Aluminium-Framed Windows
Aluminum windows are both strong and durable. Although aluminum has been used in windows for quite a long time, it continues to be one of the most widely-used materials because the many advantages that is has for homeowners.
Because aluminum is good at resisting weather and does not rust, these windows are usually the most cost-effective material for replacements and installations. They also do a great job at blocking outside noises.
Windows made from aluminum can be painted any color, or left with the original factory finish. Because of this, aluminum windows are wonderful at improving the overall look of your home.
Fiberglass-Framed Windows
Fiberglass-framed windows are as durable and highly energy efficient as vinyl since they share the same energy dissipation qualities (even when exposed to hot, relentless desert sun).
They can be painted any color or left with the original factory finish. Many window models offer a design with fiberglass on the outside and a wood surface on the inside, providing a “best of both worlds” option.
Because of its strength, fiberglass windows can be used to build large frames. And because of its flexibility, windows made from fiberglass are easily able to withstand harsher weather conditions without suffering exterior damage.
Vinyl-Framed Windows
Vinyl-framed windows are the most popular. They’re durable, highly energy-efficient, and never need to be repainted after they are installed. They are the most popular, economical window replacement option.
Window-grade vinyl is solid, sturdy and engineered for structural integrity. Even more impressive, vinyl doesn’t radiate heat, making it one of the best materials to help protect you from higher heating and cooling costs.
Due in part to its heat-resistant qualities, vinyl-framed windows never need painting. Many styles can be manufactured in custom exterior colors, though the interior surfaces will remain white or tan.
Wood-Framed Windows
Wood-framed windows offer a traditional touch of beauty and warmth to a home. Made of either pine or Douglas Fir, they, too, are as energy efficient as vinyl or fiberglass windows.
One of the beauties of wood windows is that they can be customized to fit almost any architectural or decorating style. This makes them especially popular for custom-designed windows.
Wood windows can be painted or stained any color. They do require the typical periodic care and maintenance that comes with natural products in order to retain their beauty and functionality.
